Director of Finance
Jason Ware is a 2004 graduate from Harris-Stowe State University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jason has broad knowledge and experience in the non-profit sector. Jason also received his master’s degree in business administration from Lindenwood University. His professional career is in part, highlighted by his philanthropic initiatives and leadership roles with the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc.; Harris-Stowe State University; The Haven of Grace, and the St. Louis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
As a student at Harris-Stowe, Jason held several leadership roles including Student Representative to the Board of Regents; Mr. Senior 2003-2004; SGA Junior Class Treasurer; and Recording Secretary of the Collegiate 100.
Jason is the Director of Finance at Rise Community Development. In this role, he responsible for all financial matters related to the operation of Rise and its affiliate organizations, including accounting administration, planning, policy, and investor relations.
Recently, Jason served as the Chief Financial Officer at CareSTL Health. As CFO, Jason directed the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices, assisted the executive leadership with all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding. Jason’s professional career also includes experience as Business Manager at The Painefree Group; Operations Manager at The Haven of Grace; Senior Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis; and Project Manager’s Assistant at POWER Engineers, Inc.
Jason’s philanthropic work is extensive. Due to Jason’s business and volunteer service achievements, he has helped raise more than half a million dollars for various organizations and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Harris-Stowe State University. Jason has served as President of the Board of Directors at The Haven of Grace, Recording Secretary for the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis; Treasurer of the Guide Right Foundation of St. Louis. Currently, Jason is Treasurer of the Board of Directors at IFM Community Medicine; and Trustee at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
