If you are a music lover of any kind, make sure to stop by The National Blues Museum’s booth at the Rise Up Festival. The National Blues Museum, sponsor of Roland Johnson and Soul Endeavor, walks its visitors through an extensive and interactive history of the blues. Starting way back in the Deep South hundreds of years ago, and leading all the way up to the popular music of America today, the museum covers the rich history of this evolution in music. It includes captivating photos and videos, memorabilia and antiques, and various audio samplings along the way. In some areas- it even gives the viewers a chance to make some music themselves! Stop by the museum’s booth at the festival to learn a little bit more about the attraction, and also make sure to stop by the National Blues Museum to further your education on the origins and evolution of blues music.
Also don’t forget that opening musical performance of the day, the World Famous Dr. Zhivegas, will kick off the event with their fast-paced dance music covers. The five passionate musicians that together make up the group include Frankie Muriel (lead vocals), JP Pennington (guitar), Paul Chickey (drums), Chubby Smith (bass), and Taynka (vocals). Together, these individuals have worked to produce their electric sound for over twenty years. Their dedication to the craft and love for performing is now as strong as ever, and the attendees of the 2016 Rise Up Festival will no doubt be captivated by the sound of Dr. Zhivegas.
