João Paulo Scigliano, artist currently living in St. Louis, started his work when he lived in the Brazilian Amazon region. Scigliano uses the simple raw material of wood to create jewelry, furniture, and sculptures. Each of his pieces are unique, and hold the history of the specific kind of wood that was used to create them, all while being composed from eco and social friendly components. Today, Scigliano still keeps his studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as a new studio located here in St. Louis. His work is unlike anything we have ever seen before, and the Rise Up Festival is proud to have him.
