Welcome to the fifth installment of Featured Rise Up Attractions- keeping you up to date on the happenings that will take place at the 2016 Rise Up Festival!

We are excited to welcome the passionate artist, Stacy Krieg, in the Emerging Artists section of the festival! Stacy is a painter, and has many inspirations that contribute to her bold pieces. Color and light inspire her, as well as new ideas. Before starting her work, she loves to soak in the light of the new days and the colors that surround her. To generate new ideas, Stacy studies anything and everything! She finds new subjects fascinating, and considers herself a bookworm, always believing that there is more to learn. Any new piece of information she stumbles upon could lead to a new inspiration, and a beautiful painting. Her sense of purpose is extremely apparent in her work, and her new and driven ideas bleed right onto the canvas. We hope you take the time to stop by Stacy Krieg’s booth at the Rise Up Festival and share in her joy for artwork!

Hillmann’s Honey will be setting up shop at the Rise Up Festival on August 20th  in the Rise Up Marketplace. This unique craft vendor was created by the talented Theresa Hillman from St. Charles, Missouri. The booth will offer a variety of homemade products, including: candles, beeswax, honey straws, lip balm, and local honey. Hillmann’s Honey is unlike anything we have seen before, and we cannot wait to welcome their unique works, made with care!

As history has proved to us, Blues is essentially the root of all music. We present to you at the Rise Up Festival, the bluesy sound of Roland Johnson and Soul Endeavor. From his leather suit, to his enchanting stage presence, to his authentic singing voice, Roland Johnson demands the attention of all within earshot when he takes the stage. Each performance by Johnson is just as energy-filled and electrifying as the last, and you will not want to miss it. Make sure to check out Roland Johnson and Soul Endeavor playing from 8:10pm-9:10PM at the Rise Up Festival. Also, to learn more about the origin of the Blues, check out the National Blues Museum on Washington Avenue!

“…if you want to call it blues, soul, funk, rock and roll, whatever… It’s music. For real and from the heart. That’s the way we do it every night,” –Roland Johnson
