The Young Friends and Young Professionals Board
Rise supports the Young Friends and their executive board, the Young Professionals. This is a group of young professionals in the St. Louis area who volunteer their time on service projects to help make the region better. Learn more about this organization here.

For both the open internship and practicum opportunities, the following information applies:
Some of the duties of Rise interns and may involve a role working with:
- CDFI/Minority Contractor Load Fund administration
- Development and evaluation of outcome measures
- Coordination of quarterly group training classes/seminars
- Individualized technical assistance support
- Housing, neighborhood and community planning
- Development, administering and monitoring of social service enrichment plans
- Administering Collaborative Grant Program
- Support of Rise’s Community Development Technical Assistance Program Committee
- Predevelopment – and housing development
- Construction management
- Asset management
- Development and marketing
- Advocacy and community engagement
- Contributing to writing grant applications
Many interns and practicum students have gone on to work for affordable housing development companies, urban planning consultancies, banks/financial institutions, tax credit equity firms, all levels of government along with community development corporations and other nonprofit community service organizations.

Note that while one of our core functions is real-estate development, we do not seek volunteers to assist in the physical construction of properties.
