Project Manager
Matt joined Rise in 2022 as a Project Manager, a role in which he manages real estate developments for Rise and its Partners in the St. Louis Region. Matt came to Rise with 17 years previous experience in real estate development, economic development and urban planning as both a consultant, analyst, project manager, and underwriter.
Most recently as Development Manager at Green Street Real Estate Ventures focused on identifying and managing all aspects of development and redevelopment projects with a focus on multi-family and mixed-use projects in the St. Louis region. Previously as a Project Manager at St. Louis Development Corporation, he worked with elected officials, residents, community organizations, business owners, and developers to facilitate the redevelopment of underutilized properties. As a consultant with Development Strategies, he worked on over 300 real estate and planning projects across the country with a concentration on the Midwest and St. Louis.
This breadth of experience and skills gives Matt the unique ability to bring an analytic and market based view to planning projects, and a broad planning perspective to site specific real estate projects. He has created multiple Excel models for market rate and LIHTC real estate development, as well as fiscal impact analysis. He brings unique insight and solutions to planning and development projects by combining demographic, neighborhood, and market data from a wide variety of sources.
Matt has also presented to a variety of audiences on the topic of real estate finance and modeling for non-real estate professionals, including the state conference of the MO APA, ULI REDI, architecture firms, and high school students interested in real estate careers.
Matt has a Masters in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development from Saint Louis University and a BS in Marketing from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. Prior to his work in real estate, he worked in advertising and marketing. Matt is almost a lifelong St. Louis resident and has lived in the City for over 30 years. He enjoys traveling with wife, running, and watching his son play soccer and lacrosse.
