In April of 2017, we reported on the groundbreaking of the promising new development in Forest Park Southeast; Adams Grove. The development is a $27 million project led by Rise and Unify Grove Development. The development is sponsored by the Washington University Medical Center Redevelopment Corporation (WUMCRC).

The development consists of 50 affordable garden apartments and townhomes, affordable to families making 60% or less of the Area Median Income.  The one, two, three and four bedroom homes range in size from 691 to 1,850 square feet in clusters of townhomes and two-unit garden buildings.  The project is entirely located south of Manchester and west of Newstead except one building just east of Newstead. This development is part of a much larger collaborative redevelopment effort. WUMCRC, through its affiliate, Forest West Properties, acquired a substantial number of properties in the area and solicited proposals from developers to build up to 150 affordable and market rate homes and apartments and some commercial space. The combined effort will transform the Adams Grove area in a way that can serve as a model for mixed-income neighborhood redevelopment.

Trivers Associates and Grice Group Architects are providing architectural services, Altman-Charter is the general contractor, Maurice-Benjamin Company is providing environmental services, RubinBrown is the project accountant and Rosenblum Goldenhersh is the legal counsel.

The waiting list has been open since November 2017 and the grand opening is expected to take place in July of 2018.
